Hope and Light for Ordinary Days
There is a particular kind of quiet that lives in certain stories and pictures—the kind that makes you slow down, breathe a little deeper, and remember what is true and good.
The artwork at In Pencil Studio is made in that spirit. Soft watercolor and acrylic paintings, fine art prints, and hand-painted pieces shaped by classic storytelling, childhood innocence, and the steady hope that light still finds its way into ordinary days.
Here you will find art meant to offer comfort and rest. Small reminders of joy, peace, and promises fulfilled. Pieces that feel like a gentle welcome home.
Whether you are looking for something to hang on your wall, a custom portrait, or a small handmade piece to keep close, you are warmly invited to look around.
From the Studio
“The Sun Always Rises” fine art print is a reproduction of my original acrylic landscape painting inspired by the hope offered to all people through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
This work is based on a photograph I took as the sun rose the morning after a horrific tragedy. I was reminded that morning no matter the darkness we face in this world, it can never overcome the True Light (Lamentations 3:21-23; John 1:4-5, 9-13).

Featured: Hand Painted Christmas Ornaments
For me, there is nothing more nostalgic than handmade Christmas ornaments. Growing up, my mom made my brothers and me a new ornament each year. A few years ago, I began doing the same for my nieces, and it has become one of my favorite traditions to share with others through commissioned children’s book ornaments and a yearly collection of hand-painted pieces.
This year’s collection is a small winter gathering of beloved stories: Charlie Brown, The Nutcracker, A Visit from St. Nicholas (better known as ’Twas the Night Before Christmas), and other classic tales reimagined on ceramic globe ornaments.
